IRON BEHIND THE VELVET … IS BACK!!

I know I vowed – several times – this would happen. And every time, something took precedence. The world conspired, as Vincent would say.

But things have settled out here on the farm. We finished one huge project and are nearly done with another one. For the most part – lucky me! – I’m not needed as much in these last doings. And it’s cold now, which means my garden doesn’t need me much any more either. So that’s me in the computer chair. Yay!

I’m making good – finally – on that promise to repost the 78 chapters of this story that were first published on my old Imagine That blogger site. I’m doing some editing as they go up, and while I’m changing and cutting and adding a bit, the storyline isn’t too changed. I hope, if anyone notices, it’s clearer in its murky spots. As of today, October 30, Chapters 1 and 2 are reposted. More will follow soon.

Those who aren’t earlier readers of the story are wondering what I’m talking about. Iron Behind the Velvet will be a new story for you, one that falls after The Only Gift in the middle of the Beyond the Stained Glass arc.

One important issue I wanted to address in the editing is Flynn’s job with the NYPD. Like Vincent, he is a champion, not an enforcer. Like Vincent, he stands between evil and the innocent, but, even so, like Vincent, he bears the weight of it all and it can be a terrible weight. To that end, I added a few significant paragraphs  to I Carry Your Heart, the story that introduces Flynn and Eimear into this BatB universe. (Those changes occur in Chapters 3 and 7.)

Thank you all who’ve written to me over the years, remembering the beginning and looking forward to the rest of this story. Thank you to every new reader of it. This story means a lot to me and it’s taken me places Below, Above, and Within that I never expected.

It won’t be a fast finish – you know me, LOL. But I’m back to it and happy to be so.

My best,
Carole
