For the Con Charity

Our Stained Glass Centerpiece

Sandy (videoam1ture/SandyX/Cabb’s Admin) and I teamed up to make a centerpiece for the convention’s Saturday night banquet. There were at least ten table decorations created and donated by as many fans, and each was later auctioned off in benefit of the convention’s chosen charity, Connections for Abused Women and Their Children.

Ours was a stained glass triptych – a stylized city skyline, a Central Park bridge, and the tunnel entrance. We had fun designing and putting the piece together, but sadly we weren’t able to attend this year and so … we mailed it to Pat. Luckily it arrived (via USPS) in three whole pieces, and Janet R and Sandy Tew set it up perfectly. We are so grateful for their efforts!  And glad we could help raise some money for this year’s charity.

“I love making the Winterfest candles. They’re special.”
